An essential component of Family Resource Center (FRC) is the Family Advisory Board (FAB). The purpose of the FAB is to ensure that services are truly responsive to the needs of families in our community. FAB made up of parents and caregivers who actively participate in shaping the FRC programs and policies. By involving families in decision-making, we are committed to promoting equity, respect, and trust between staff and the community we serve.
FAB members provide feedback on programming; help identify gaps in services and offer suggestions for improvement based on their unique perspectives. They often assist with event planning, outreach efforts, and developing programs.
Participation in a FAB empowers families by building leadership skills, increasing engagement, and strengthening their confidence as advocates for themselves and others. By listening to the voices of the FAB we also become more effective and inclusive, better aligning services with the real-life needs of the people we support.
